Becoming Us: A Novel (Haven Makers Book 1) by [Gunn, Robin Jones]

In reviewing this book, the story line brought out some interesting lessons that oftentimes occur in real life. The book overall is a good read and the title definitely fit the story. The characters in the book felt natural and inspiring. The building of new friendships in a new location and the helped the family received from this new friendship.   Friendships turn into relationships with families being connected.

The book referred to the family moving from under the shadow of the parents and coming into their own. Lessons of learning how to stand on your own two feet is made clear. The story portrays the little family as learning on their own what is best for their family and not what their parents feel is best. Although, the elderly parents only wanted what was best for their adult children and granddaughter, they often had their say in what was good for their family.

The author did a great job with writing this book and arranging each chapter. The story line produced  hope, faith, strength, forgiveness, healing, communication, and confidence.  Overall I would recommend this book to young adults, and adults.

I receive this book from the publisher through their book launch program. @WaterBrookMultnomah #Partner

  1. I just read The Blessing of Obedience by Norvel Hayes. He’s had great, deep experiences with God through The Holy Spirit and most of his books are quite short and to-the-point and most can be found on Kindle for $.99. a wealth of Spiritual knowledge on healing, Holy Spirit, obedience and following God. I highly recommend his books and this one in particular to anyone who wants to understand following the Lord.
